Jeanette L. Hebel, MD, FAAD, FACMS
Dr. Hebel graduated magna cum laude with her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She continued her education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, graduating with her medical degree in 1993. She then joined the Navy where she completed a transitional internship at the National Naval Medical Center and her residency in Dermatology at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego. She was Board certified in Dermatology in 2000. Because she wanted to specialize in skin cancer, Dr. Hebel went on to pursue a fellowship in Mohs Surgery at the Skin Surgery Center in Winston-Salem, NC. After completing thirteen years on active duty in the Navy she returned to her native Lancaster to practice Mohs Surgery at Dermatology Associates of Lancaster. She is on active staff at Lancaster General Hospital. Dr. Hebel is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American College of Mohs Surgery. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Academy of Dermatology and the Lancaster City & County Medical Society. She has co-authored multiple articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and also co-authored two chapters in the online eMedicine textbook. She is board certified in both Dermatology and Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery by the American Board of Dermatology.
Jennifer A. Sceppa, MD, FAAD, FASDP
A Board-certified Dermatologist and Dermatopathologist, Dr. Sceppa graduated from Cornell University with Distinction in All Subjects, receiving a BA in biology. While at Cornell, she was chosen from the top 5% of her class to be a Merrill Presidential Scholar and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. She attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine for her medical training where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She completed her Dermatology residency at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, serving as chief resident in her final year there. She pursued further subspecialty training during a Dermatopathology fellowship at the Ackerman Academy of Dermatopathology/SUNY Downstate in New York City. She has co-authored multiple articles in peer-reviewed medical journals regarding her research in dermatology and dermatopathology and has also co-authored a book on mycosis fungoides with the late A. Bernard Ackerman, one of the founding figures in dermatopathology.
Dr. Sceppa specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of all skin conditions, including skin cancer, acne, psoriasis, hair loss, eczema, and other skin rashes. She is also able to provide in-office diagnosis of biopsies of various skin conditions and growths. Dr. Sceppa is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatopathology, and is a member of the Pennsylvania Academy of Dermatology. She is on active staff at Lancaster General Hospital.
Christina N. Lawson, MD, FAAD
Dr. Lawson, a native of Lancaster County, graduated from the University of Maryland majoring in neurobiology and physiology in 2006. She obtained her medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in 2011, in which she graduated in the top five percent of her class. She completed her residency in dermatology at Howard University Hospital in 2015, where she served as Chief Resident during her final year. Dr. Lawson received her Board Certification in Dermatology in 2015. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Her memberships include the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, Women’s Dermatologic Society, Skin of Color Society, Pennsylvania Academy of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, Philadelphia Dermatologic Society, and Pennsylvania Medical Society. She has published multiple peer-reviewed journal articles and is the author of a chapter entitled “Acne and Rosacea” in the textbook “Dermatoanthropology of Ethnic Skin and Hair.” She is skilled in all areas of medical dermatology, including the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, acne, atopic dermatitis, and psoriasis. She also performs various dermatologic procedures for both benign and malignant neoplasms of the skin. She has a particular interest in ethnic skin care and hair loss. She is on active staff at Lancaster General Hospital.
Joanne Smucker Rill, MD, FAAD
A native of Lancaster, Dr. Rill attended Eastern Mennonite University for her undergraduate education. She then graduated from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in 2013. Dr. Rill completed her internal medicine internship and dermatology residency at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center where during her final year of residency she served as the Chief Administrative Resident. Her professional society memberships include the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, the Gold Humanism Honors Society, and the American Academy of Dermatology. She is adept at general, pediatric, medical, and surgical dermatology. She has specific interest in cutaneous malignancies, acne, psoriasis, and bullous diseases. She is excited to be a part of the outstanding team at Dermatology Associates of Lancaster and is pleased to serve her home community of Lancaster.
Desiree A. Antonacci, MS, PA-C
Desiree has been part of the practice for more than 15 years. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from West Chester University in Pennsylvania and has experience working as an analytical research chemist in several international pharmaceutical companies. Desiree received her Master of Science degree in Health Sciences/Physician Assistant studies from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in the top 5% of her class. She is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA). Desiree is a Diplomate member of the SDPA as she completed extensive additional training tailored for dermatology physician assistants.
Besides her dermatology experience, Desiree has worked in internal medicine in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and in rheumatology in Dunedin, FL. She has a special interest in cutaneous malignancies, psoriasis, and autoimmune disorders. In her spare time, she enjoys drawing with pastels, historical fiction, traveling and spending time with family.
Amanda M. Conroy, MSN, CRNP
Amanda Conroy earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing degrees as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Millersville University in 2014 and 2017 respectively. She is a member of the National Academy of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and the Pennsylvania Coalition of Nurse Practitioners.
Prior to joining the practice, Amanda worked as an acute care Registered Nurse for 10 years. She has always had an interest in dermatology, including the recognition of skin cancers and diagnosis and treatment of acne, rosacea and eczema. Amanda is excited to provide all aspects of dermatologic care to patients in her native Lancaster County.
Erica M. Witkonis, MSN, CRNP
Erica M. Witkonis is excited to provide dermatological care to the community in which she was raised. An alumna of Lancaster Catholic High School, she graduated Maxima Cum Laude from La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. After several years in the field, Erica continued her healthcare education at Millersville University where she obtained a Master of Science in Nursing. The focus of her research during this time centered around dermatology – particularly acne in adult women and the psychosocial effects of skin disorders. During her training, Erica rotated in family medicine, internal medicine, and completed an internship with Dermatology Associates of Lancaster.
Prior to joining the practice, Erica spent eight years caring for patients of all ages in several different acute care settings. These included medical surgical units, operating rooms, as well as emergency departments. She received the DAISY Award for extraordinary nurses while working in Pittsburgh, PA and the D. Joan Godfrey Nursing Award during her studies at Millersville University. Erica is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is an active member of the Junior League of Lancaster.
Hayley Dietrich, MSPAS, PA-C
Hayley Dietrich, a native of Berks county, joined the Dermatology Associates of Lancaster team in October of 2019. After finishing her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at Clemson University, she attended Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. While at Jefferson, she received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Her professional society memberships include the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants. Hayley sees all general dermatology patients and has a special interest in cosmetic dermatology.
Chase Sloat, MSPAS, PA-C
Chase, a native to Pennsylvania, graduated with his undergraduate education from the University of West Florida where he entered military service to serve our country in both the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army. Chase honorably served our country as an officer and aviator (MEDEVAC Pilot) before entering into dermatology. Through his service, he has developed professional experience in both leadership and healthcare. He later received his degree as a Physician Assistant through the University of New Mexico, in Albuquerque, where he graduated with honors before serving as a primary care provider in an underserved New Mexican border town. During that time, he has had the fortunate opportunity to practice dermatologic skills and procedures in a variety of settings which has further increased his passion for dermatology.
Chase enjoys helping patients achieve their best skin and is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
In his spare time, Chase continues to serve our community and country as a disaster relief volunteer with Team Rubicon. He enjoys the outdoors, hiking, skiing, surfing, traveling, and spending time with family.
Christi Rohrer, MSPAS, PA-C
“Christi is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in medical dermatology. She
began her medical career graduating from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science
in Exercise Science. She then pursued and attained a Master of Science in Physician
Assistant Studies from Shenandoah University. Shortly after graduating, Christi began
her career as a Physician Assistant working at a private dermatology practice in West
Chester, PA. Her love and knowledge of dermatology grew, and she is now excited
to continue providing dermatologic care in Lancaster County. Christi prioritizes lifelong
learning and is an active member of the Society of Dermatology of Physician
Assistants. She values strong relationships with her patients and is dedicated to helping
them accomplish their healthcare goals and needs.
In her spare time, Christi enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, baking, and
enjoying the beach. She is excited to join Dermatology Associates of Lancaster and is
proud to work alongside a fantastic team of providers!”
